Ice Skating Snowman

Bubbles with purple background and words that say glitter queens blog hop

Welcome to November’s Blog Hop featuring Happy Holidays.

The first thing I did was stamp the snowman from the Spirited Snowman in Memento Ink. I am using a card front that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Then I covered him up with a mask. After this I created another mask out of sticky note paper and the Layering Ovals Framelits. Then ink the ice in pool party. I added some shadow right under his body with Balmy Blue.

Next up is the refelction: for this I used the Stamparatus and the grey layer from the Big Shot Embossing Mats.

I lined the card up in the Stamparatus to get my placement for where his shadow needed to be. Then I removed the card and replaced it with the grey mat. I think inked up the upside down Snowman in Memento ink and pressed it to the mat, I did this twice. Then I placed my card upside down on the mat and transferred the ink.

Now that I have my ice and reflection, I added a very small 1/2 ground at the bottom. I am going to cover this up with the fence from the Farmhouse Framelits Die. I cut the fence out in white.

Now I colored the snowman. I used markers in Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade, Grey Granite, and Crumb Cake.

Then I put all my masks back in place. The mask for the snowman, the reverse part of the oval, and cover the ground. Then I took a sponge and Highland Heather ink, I inked up my sponge then got off as much ink as i could. Then I inked the background a little. This helped to give me a little more color in the background without taking away from the fact that is cold and snowing.

Blizzard Thinlits Die, use Shimmer Paper in Sparkle. These little snowflakes make a great touch. Add the snow flakes randomly around the card.

I then cut out Winter Cheer stamped in Memento with the 1 1/4 circle punch. Then the 1 3/8 circle punch out of Highland Heather, then put together with a dimensional.

Attach the fence with multipurpose glue to the bottom.

Attach the entire front to a card base. I choose to use white, but Highland Heather would have been just as pretty.
