Flip Up Folio

Thank you for stopping by today. I have for you my walk through of the Flip Up Folio. I used the tutorial from Your Book of Memories to create this book.

I made some edits to the cuts for the designer series paper and added a few extra items.

I selected the Designer Paper. Made all my cuts. Inked all my paper, then glued it all down.

In the video below, I do a walk through of the Folios and some tips at the end on selecting your paper and mass producing these lovely books. I have also included my cut list below the video if you are interested.

Gate Fold Album Country Kitchen

Book with chickens on the front that says gate fold folio country kitchen welcome to our coop

Welcome to the Gate Fold Folio with Country Kitchen paper pack from Carta Bella.

My sister in law asked me to make her a recipe book, I knew exactly what I wanted to use. This Gate Fold was created by Frances Long at Your Book of Memories on Youtube. I loved her flip through, but did not really have a need for it myself. Until my sister in law gave me a reason.

I loved the way it turned out. Please see the video below for a walk through of this project and for the full tutorial please visit Frances.

I bought a wonderful stamp set from countrycraftcreations.com and it was perfect to go with this set, unfortunately I ran out of room and did not use it.

I really enjoyed this project and will be making another one.. stay tuned.

Note Pad Holder –

Three notebooks that say need a place to write somethind own, note pad holder is the answer

Note Pad Holder

Hello Everyone.  We are saying goodbye to some of the items we love in the current catalog and in the Occasions Catalog.

This month I had permission to showcase a tutorial from Frances Long at Your Book Of Memories on You Tube. The Note Pad and Sticky Note Holder Book.

I love this book. It is the perfect accessory on my desk.

At the bottom of this post is a Free PDF of the cut list.

Here is a quick video walk through of the Note Pade Holder

Book Cover

Chipboard 2 cut at 5 1/4 x 8 1/4

1 at 1 x 8 1/4

Take two sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 ad tape them together with 1/4 tape or wet glue.

I used a ruler at the bottom of my paper one inch from the bottom and one inch from the left side and aligned my pieces on top of the ruler. Start with the spine piece place over the pieces that you put together with the paper. The align the front and back 1/4 ich apart on either side.

Base Piece: Flap

Flap: Take 8 ½ x 11  paper and cute to 5 7/8 x 8 ¼

Score on the 5 7/8 at the top at ½ inch and ¾ inch.

Base Piece: Large Pocket

This piece is 6 1/16 x 7

Score on the 6 1/16 at the top at 1/2, then do a complete rotation to the other side and score again at 1/2 inch.

Score with the 7 ich side at the top at 1/2 inch.

Base Piece: File Pocket

5 1/2 x 5 1/4

Score on the 5 1/4 at the top at 1/2 inch.

Rotate left once for the 5 1/2 to be at the top, score at 1/2 inch.

I score on the back of the paper.

Then flip the paper by taking the bottom left L and flip it so now the 5 1/4 is back at the top.

Now take a pencil and mark at 1 3/4 then rotate to 5 1/2 at the top and mark at 3 3/4.

Align the two marks in your paper trimmer and cut the diagonal line.

In the picture you will cut the two red lines.

Base Piece: Sticky Note Holder

5 x 8 3/8

Score with the 5 inch at the top at ½ and 7/8 then rotate to the opposite side and score again at ½ and 7/8.

On the 8 3/8 at the top score at 2, 2 3/8, 5 ½, 5 7/8.

Then you will cut out the far four corners up to the second score line.

Use a decorative corner rounder on the small flap.

Also attach a magnet to the flap.

Assembly: Base Pieces

Glue down Flap to the left hand side of the book, this is
the 5 7/8 x 8 ¼ piece. Glue down only the left part of the file pocket that is
5 ½ x 5 ¼ aligning up the ½ part with the flap.

Glue down only bottom part of other pocket to the right hand
side this piece is 6 1/16 x 7.

You will have to measure to make sure that you have enough
for your back piece. Use 12 x 12 cut it to 8 high, then measure your book with
1/8 border and cut remaining.

Glue middle of the spine on either side before placing down
the background.

Glue down bottom of the pocket and right side of the right
pocket before adding the background piece.

Ribbon goes under the left side of the right pocket. I took
white ribbon, colored it with Early Espresso Marker.

Assembly Designer Series Paper

Once you have the book together, the DSP for the left flap is 4 7/8 x 8 and you need two of these for front and back.

The left pocket is 4 13/16 x 6 ¼.

Assembly: File Pocket Designer Series Paper and Large Pocket

The File pocket DSP is 4 ½ x 4 ¾, align with a 1/8 margin, nick mark with pencil where the red line is (straight down from the cuts made earlier) then cut to match.

Large Pocket on the right the DSP is 4 13/16 x 6 1/4.

Assembly: Sticky Note Holder

For the sticky note holder DSP is 2 at 1 ¾ x 3 and two at 2 ¼ x 3. The small pieces go on the top flap.

If you wait to assemble the box you can pick your paper and add in one of the 2 ¼ x 3 pieces to the inside. Add your magnets, then cover the flap with both small pieces and the other large piece goes over the magnet.

Only put tape on the flap that goes down align it up with the flaps and press. Make sure that if forms a box.

Note Pad Holder

The DSP that cover the note pad is 5 x 1/34 wrap around the top of the book. Cut the back card board of the note pad holder about 1/16-1/8 on each side so it will slide in and out of the pocket.

Decorate

Decorate with additional pieces as desired. I used the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and cut out one of the sheets with all the little coffee elements on it. I then used tape and taped them onto the project. It was the perfect touch without making the project bulky.

Thank you all for stopping by. Here is the JPG of all the paper you need.
